Aston Villa’ next manager: Rúben Amorim distanced himself, for now.
According to The Athletic website, Rúben Amorim is one of the names linked to succeed Steven Gerrard, sacked from Aston Villa yesterday.
Few days ago, there was talk of the English man departure, given the bad results, and the heavy defeat by 0-3, at Fulham’s home sealed his fate. There was talk of Mauricio Pochettino, but the Argentine will not be very interested, as well as Thomas Tuchel.

Amorim had already been linked to PSG and Wolverhampton.
He became Sporting CP manager on 4 March 2020 signing a deal until 30 June 2023 with a €20 million release clause, in the next season (21/22), the Portuguese manager led Sporting’s to their first league title in 19 years.
Amorim led the team in total of 122 game, with 70.49% winning percentage (86 wins).
