Newcastle wins against Tottenham (1-2) and settles in the 4th place
Newcastle proved they are a serious candidate for the Premier League top 4. The club coached by Eddie Howe had a huge success on the pitch at Tottenham Stadium against the Spurs with a 2-1 victory on Sunday night, in match week 13, and took the 4th place.
Goals from Callum Wilson (31′) and Miguel Almirón (40′) were enough to keep the Magpies happy. Harry Kane reduced the deficit (54′), but his goal ended as a consolation goal.
Miguel Almirón kept his fine form this season as the Paraguayan winger scored five goals in his last five Premier League appearances, with his previous five goals in the competition being spread across 61 matches.
Harry Kane recorded an individual record as it took only 12 games from the Spurs Striker to reach 10 goals in the Premier League this season, with this the soonest he’s done so in his career. In 2021-22, Kane didn’t score his 10th league goal until his 25th game of the season.
It’s been a bad week for Tottenham. On Sunday night, the Spurs, already suffered a defeat at Manchester United (2-0) on Wednesday, lost to Newcastle (1-2) suffering from their first defeat At Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season
In the Premier League standings, Antonio Conte’s men remain 3rd but they saw their opponent rise to the 4th place.
